Home Slice has already begun reopening patios for outdoor dining.
Austin’s beloved pizzeria is getting back on its feet. While the eatery has offered carryout and delivery since the onset of the pandemic, its patio have been off limits for seven months. Now, Home Slice is reopening its patios in North Loop and South Congress, expanding their outdoor dining area into their adjacent South Congress parking lot. Additionally, Home Slice is introducing a new voting promo that offers a free slice of pizza to voters. [Featured image: @homeslicepizza]
Today, October 13, marks Travis County’s first day of early voting. From now until Election Day, November 3, Home Slice will give out a free slice of pizza to every customer that comes in wearing a “I voted” sticker.
“Only 63.8 percent of eligible voters in Travis County cast their ballots in the 2016 presidential election,” said partner at Home Slice Pizza, Adam Cooper, in a press release. “That means 36.2 percent of Travis County’s eligible voters didn’t vote at all! We hope the new ‘poll perks’ we’re offering will encourage more people to vote this time around.”
Home Slice is a capital favorite has collected an array of awards since opening its doors in 2005. Such accolades include Austin Chronicle’s Reader’s choice for Best Pizza in 2019, 2017, and the four consecutive years prior. The pizza joint offers seven stylized pies. One of which is the White Clam Pizza, which features chopped clams, extra virgin olive oil, fresh oregano, and Pecorino Romano. Customers can also choose to customize their pies with an array of toppings that include: mushrooms, sausage, fresh tomato, with Special Toppings that include fried eggplant, meatballs, house-roasted red peppers, and more.
Home Slice also offers salad options, along with calzones, homemade desserts, and hot and cold subs. In typical Italian fashion, their drink menu features an assortment of wines as well as wine cocktails. Other beverages include beer, bottled soda, and coffee.
