Curra’s Grill is opening a second location in Hyde Park.
This spring, South Austin local, Curra’s Grill, will open a second location in Hyde Park. Future plans for the Mexican restaurant include deploying a golf cart delivery service in Hyde Park and Hancock areas.
The news of the restaurant opening comes bittersweet to Austinites. Curra’s Grill will house in the space formerly occupied by veggie haven, Mother’s Cafe, a mainstay in the community for 40 years.
While the official opening date has yet to be certified, Curra’s plans to open in either March or April. The new opening will mark the restaurant’s second location. Jorge and Marco Garcia opened the original Curra’s on Oltorf Street in South Austin in 1995. Daylon Garcia, son of Jorge Garcia, will run Curra’s Hyde Park after his Assistant Manager position at the original location.
Curra’s Grill offers a full menu with taco, enchilada, and nachos dishes, complete with appetizers, soups, and desserts. Options range from their Award Winning Vegetarian Enchiladas Plate, fan-favorite Cochinita Pibil dish, and Home Made Tamales Plate.
The new restaurant will also feature a new “Tia’s Plate” rotating menu that is set to include family recipes such as a duck quesadillas dish.
In an effort to keep delivery services in-house, the Hyde Park restaurant will deploy a golf cart delivery system to Hyde Park and Hancock neighborhoods.
