The Sistine Chapel Experience starts with Gallery I, an exploration of the Chapel’s origins. You’ll come face-to-face with the initial vision of the monument from the Popes who commissioned it, getting more insight into the Renaissance moguls of the time period.
Michelangelo, Botticelli, Raphael… Who were they really, and what impact did they have on the creation of the Sistine Chapel as we know it today? The whole segment transports you to the 15th century, at the intersection of art, politics and spirituality.
Making your way through Gallery II, you’ll find a 20-minute film all about the Sistine Chapel’s four walls. Produced by Hollywood icons James Younger and Gary Lucchesi, it’s a profound journey through the symbolism and hidden details of the Chapel. The cinematic experience sets the stage for Gallery III: an XXL replica of the Sistine Chapel.
The lowered ceilings of the full-scale reproduction offer the perfect opportunity to marvel at Michelangelo’s brushstrokes, textures and colors up close. Recreated with the help of over 270,000 high-resolution photographs captured over 65 nights inside the Chapel, it’s a realistic rendition of the legendary monument you don’t want to miss.
