Snoochie Boochies, Austin. Reservations are now open to Mooby’s at 3TEN ACL LIVE.
The fictional restaurant of Mooby’s, as seen in Kevin Smith movies, is breaking the fourth wall with a brick-and-mortar pop-up in Austin from May 10 – May 15.
Actor and director, Kevin Smith, started his career with his cult-classic film, Clerks. Since then, Silent Bob has created a repertoire of irreverent comedies, including Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Dogma, Mallrats, along with the award-winning Chasing Amy.
His movies have spawned action figures, comic books, a cannabis line, and now, a Mooby’s pop-up restaurant. For those who haven’t seen the movies, Mooby’s is basically a fast-food mashup/jab at restaurants like Burger King and McDonald’s with burgers, fries, and the lot.
But don’t get it twisted, Mooby’s will be serving quality eats and drinks from Austin’s own Wholly Cow Burger, Salt Lick, and Independence Brewing Co.
A “Mooby’s Meal” is included in each ticket purchase. Customers can choose from a burger, vegan burger, vegan brat, or chicken sandwich from Wholly Cow, as well as a side from Salk Lick with options like “Onion Rings to Rule Them All” or “Hater Totz”. Desserts, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will also be available.
Rest assured there will be plenty of purple and yellow photo ops along the way.
Tickets are now on sale for $29 per person.
