Ancient Egypt is known for its mysteries: how, exactly, did they create such massive pyramids? And what exactly prompted them to worship so many gods? So many questions surround the civilization, so much so that a plethora of documentaries have been made on the subject. Simply put: Ancient Egypt captures our attention, thousands of years after its fall.
Horizon of Khufu will plunge you in the midst of that ancient civilization. Thanks to captivating VR, you’ll get to duck through pyramids of Giza, experience the funeral rites of pharaohs, and see the Nile River undulate as the sun sets. Created with the help of Harvard researchers, it’s a historical voyage you don’t want to miss.

An immersion through the Giza plateau
Don your headset and embark on an unparalleled journey through Ancient Egypt, without leaving Austin. As soon as the VR begins, you’ll be transported to a parallel universe — the Giza plateau. It’s almost as if you were there, in 1500 B.C., marveling at the Nile River and the palm trees that adorn its banks.
During your experience, you’ll be guided by a virtual guide and your fellow participants, taking on the shape of avatars to walk in the shoes of pharaohs past.

Crafted with the help of Harvard egyptologists
Horizon of Khufu was largely created thanks to the support of egyptology professor Peter Der Manuelian and his team at Harvard. Using real data and artifact knowledge from their Giza Project, Horizon of Khufu is able to replicate Ancient Egypt in a historically accurate way.
