Cinephiles, rejoice! The Austin Film Society Cinema is finally back.
The Austin Film Society’s flagship movie theater is reopening next month after moving all its screenings online over a year ago. This summer’s programming will feature of great classic films, new releases fresh from the festival circuit, and lots of hidden treasures.

AFS Cinema’s schedule brings a huge range of movies in its signature programs’ repertoire this season. The series “Big Screen Classics” will feature acclaimed classics like Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, Jacques Tati’s Playtime, and Akira Kurosawa’s Ran.
The popular Friday series “Lates” is back too. This signature program is dedicated to exploring the world of weird, erotic, experimental, quirky cult cinema. This year, it will get weirder than ever with titles like Singapore Sling, Son of the White Mare, and The Hourglass Sanatorium. Each Friday screening features a DJ set at the theater’s lounge area before the show.
